Before your big voyage

You're planning your voyage around the world. But what happens when you return?

You spend months preparing for your voyage. The yacht is fitted out, weather routes studied, insurance arranged and spare parts stowed. Yet one important question often remains unanswered: how will I prove my yacht's customs status when I return?

Your yacht loses its Union goods status when it leaves the customs territory of the Union. Customs may levy import duties and taxes when you later return. Whether duties and taxes arise, and under what conditions, depends on the individual case and the applicable customs rules. Suitable proof in the form of a T2L customs document records your yacht's status and protects you against being charged import duties and taxes again.

The T2L

A document that may prove important on your voyage.

The T2L is a customs document proving the Union goods status of goods. We check whether your yacht's Union goods status can be established from the available documents and its history.

If the review has a positive outcome, we prepare an individual lawyer-issued status document and assist with the application for T2L proof through the European PoUS system. Find out more under T2L status document.
